Wichita Esports Festival
Finally, after 10 weeks of Esports competitions all throughout the central United States, the Midwest Esports Conference reached its peak in Wichita, Kansas with a little help from OG Evo Media! The weekend of March 26th and 27th, Unified Esports Association hosted its Wichita Esports Festival- the final event in the MEC. As the culmination of the whole MEC tour, it was widely expected to be an intense and incredible competition, and it definitely delivered. Over 400 gamers spanning all age groups and skill levels stopped by for their chance to compete, win prizes, and have fun with other gaming enthusiasts. They even got to play on the Unified’s big Esports stage like the professionals! OG Evo Media’s own Johnny Weaver ran League of Legends, Halo, Valorant, and Rocket League for the duration of the weekend, totaling to 4 of the 10+ total titles. The final MEC League of Legends championship was held between Grand View Esports and the Ottawa Braves in a best of 5 series. Competition was stiff, but Grand View fought hard and took the cake, becoming the 2022 Spring MEC Champions!
The MEC was an amazing experience for all of its participants, with each new LAN forging friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime. This may be the last we see of the Midwest Esports Conference for the foreseeable future, but Unified has plenty more Esports LAN’s in the works, so 2022 still has a lot in store.
